The Remote and Rural Healthcare Educational Alliance (RRHEAL) has led on the design of a course for remote and rural practitioners that would give them the necessary skills to manage a Mental Health crisis in line with the recommendations of their local Psychiatric Emergency Plan.

With emphasis on improving the experience of people who are having a Mental Health crisis , RRHEAL, BASICS and the Clinical Skills Unit have developed a course which would use blended learning techniques, to enhance confidence and competence of those NHS staff who are required to respond locally, safely and until definitive treatment is available.

This course will be offered in future by Health Scotland.  Contact - Choose Life Training Team, NHS Health Scotland, Elphinstone House, 65 West Regent Street, Glasgow, G2, training@chooselife.net, 0141 3542900 or Erica Stewart-Jones, Learning and Development Advisor, NHS Health Scotland, Mob: 07500 226075, erica.stewartjones@nhs.net, website www.healthscotland.com
